The receiver, in conjunction with several very small and lightweight transmitters, is capable of tracking baited property such as electronic equipment, laptop computers, construction equipment, or any other items that are commonly stolen.  Vehicles or individual people can also be tracked using a variety of transmitters.

Each receiver unit is full functioned, with the capability to track up to as many as 100 to 500 transmitters.  The receivers are light-weight, weighing less than two pounds, and can be powered by 110 volts AC, 12 volts DC, as well as rechargeable NiCad batteries that provide 6 to 8 hours of tracking capability on a single charge.

The miniature RF transmitters that are used in tandem with this receiver can track an item inside of  residential and commercial buildings, above and underground garages, over vast outdoor areas, or virtually anywhere the item containing the transmitter is located, without the often encountered limitations of GPS and/or cellular based systems.

Five different types of transmitters (described in detail below) are available, including 'miniature flat', 'miniature boxed', 'motion activated' (fast/slow), 'motion activated' (fast/sleep), and 'light activated' types, designed for a variety of tracking and notification purposes.

Because these transmitters emit a short pulsed signal, rather than a constant, high current draining signal, they are able to operate for extremely long periods of time (from 20 days to 2 years) from a variety of small batteries.

With such a wide selection of transmitter sizes and types, this is without a doubt the most versatile tracking system available, and is one of the few systems that can provide tracking capability for people, motor vehicles, boats, trailers, and most other articles.

The systems include a manufacturer's 5 year warranty on all receivers, and a 90 day warranty on all transmitters, subject to proper use and installation.

Doppler Display

Utilizing the 'Doppler Shift Principle', these units display the target's relative bearing to the surveillance tracking system on a ring of 16 high intensity LED's (light emitting diodes) arranged in a circle around a center 'reference' LED, and a 3 digit numerical display, with a resolution of 1 degree.  Relative signal strength (distance) is indicated by a ten segment multi-colored LED display.

Other front panel controls contained on the display unit include an averaging and attenuator switch, a bearing calibration switch, volume up/down switches, and display bright/dim selector.  The remote display unit also contains an internal speaker (with a tone eliminating notch filter) for monitoring the received signal.

The display unit mounts to the windshield with a double pivoted arm that can be easily adjusted for best viewing, and measures approximately 2.4" x 4.5" x 1.25", and weighs approximately 8 ounces.

A hidden transmitter (not included) operating within the 52 - 1000 MHz range is placed within the target vehicle (or other item to be tracked).  The transmitter (not included) may be set to transmit continuously or intermittently, in order to conserve battery power.

Each system includes the Doppler direction finder display unit, the Doppler processor unit, a magnetic mount vehicle roof antenna array, and complete operating instructions.  The effective operating range of the system is entirely dependent upon the power output of the transmitter utilized, and may be up to 20 miles or more.

A complete system requires a remote display (included), a processor (included), an RF 'summer' (included), and an antenna array (included).  Also required is a transmitter operating in the 52 - 1000 MHz range (not included), and a narrow band FM receiver (not included).

A high quality scanner radio, a transceiver, a service monitor, or a spectrum analyzer can be used as the receiver.  Caution must be taken to avoid transmitting into the tracking system if a transceiver is used as a receiver.

The system can be accessed from a PC at your home, office, or even in the field using a laptop computer using the Mapix software package and a cellular modem.  The location of the target is clearly displayed on a digital map of your area. 

The G.P.S. signals are continuously broadcast from an orbiting satellites and the system uses these signals to calculate its location.  The longitude, latitude, unit ID and other G.P.S. information is transmitted via a cellular modem to your computer for display on a regional map.

To conserve power, the control center can be programmed to contact the vehicle at specific times to get a location and the information will be stored for future reference, or you can continuously track the vehicle if needed, but battery life will be reduced.

The unit can also be connected to an alarm-input device (such as a panic button).  Activating the alarm will send a 'help' message and location information to the control center.  This is a useful tool for executive protection and kidnap recovery purposes.

IMPORTANT:  All G.P.S. and Cellular based systems have technical limitations, that may cause temporary loss of signal conditions.  There are times when G.P.S. cannot receive adequate signals to calculate an accurate position.  Garages, tall buildings, large vehicles, and other obstructions may temporarily block satellite signals, and cellular networks have areas of poor or non-existent coverage.

Each unit is programmed to transmit global positioning system (GPS) location data on a real-time basis, in response to a command, or a user selectable combination of both.  This information is then instantly converted into mapping data that is immediately available over the Internet from anywhere in the world.

Information provided on the map overlay includes vehicle speed, direction, and location within approximately 10 feet.  Units are shipped ready to use, and no dedicated hardware or software is required to operate the system.  A standard PC or Mac with Internet access is all that is required.

A secure, password-protected homepage provides all operational tools on a single screen, and numerous display options allow the user to select graphics displays in the form of street-level maps, event list, or plain-text histories.  Entire fleets or a single vehicle may be displayed on a street-level map that also incorporates zoom in/out capabilities.

The heart of the system is the new 'Cellemetry Data Service' that provides a secure and dependable means of data transmission.  Short of direct satellite links, no other system provides such a large operational 'footprint' within the United States.

All transmissions are made at full legal power (up to three watts), and the same 'bulletproof' error correction system that the cellular company uses to preserve call billing data is utilized to transmit tracking information.

The system functions in a true telemetry environment, with none of the problems inherent to systems that use the cellular telephone voice channels or two way radios.  Messages are error-corrected, meaning that no data is lost due to weak or 'scratchy' voice channel transmissions, and messages get through even when the voice channels are 'busy'.

Transmissions are very secure, meaning that competitors and/or investigative subjects cannot monitor data or interfere with the system. Unlike some cellular telephones, there is no risk of cloning, and the system is very user friendly.

This system may be operated or monitored from anywhere in the world that telephone service is available, and very little user training or experience is necessary. Anyone who has 'surfed the Web' already has 95% of the skills necessary to poll vehicles, generate map displays, and access statistical information.

Installation requires the connection of 2 or 3 wires (depending upon installation preferences), mounting the concealed transmitter unit, and positioning the concealed antenna.  Typical installation takes from approximately one hour (with automotive electronics installation experience) to 3 hours (novice or unusual installation).  No special technical knowledge or tools are required.

These units are completely self contained, approximately the size of a paperback novel, weigh about 1.5 pounds, and include a single integrated combination GPS/cellular antenna.  Electrical connections are provided for 12 volts DC (automotive power), and power requirements are minimal, allowing the unit to remain in use for several weeks without loss of vehicle cranking power.

A desktop PC or laptop with Internet access (fixed or mobile) is all that is necessary to operate the system.
